I got to do some surgery today. On a live cat. Fuck.
I just went in to the vets this morning to watch some surgeries between my exams and my farm/stable/zoo placements and they just let me do half of it, it was mad. And I was ridiculously calm during the whole thing as well, it was weird. My hand was so steady when I was making incisions and it really shouldn’t have been considering I was just allowed to do it out of the blue. I absolutely loved it, such a buzz from doing it even now.
Completely confirmed for me that I’m doing the right thing in life.
Two weeks of solidly doing exams start tomorrow, including two and a half days of practical exams. First year has flown past way too fast, absolutely loved every minute of it, I’m unbelievably lucky but fuck me I’ve had to work hard for it.
The things I’ve learned have been astounding and the sheer quantity of it is ridiculous, I really couldn’t see myself doing anything else though. The piss up after these two weeks are done is going to be phenomenal.

One of the best bands I’ve seen live, they put on a fantastic light show to accompany the music. Love Like a Sunset in particular is phenomenal live.
